Cytota was a metalcore band from Birmingham in England, formed in 2009.
Cytota was to lose vocalist Joby Fitzgerald in 2014. They recruited a new vocalist, Griffin Dickinson (son of the Iron maiden front-man Bruce) and renamed themselves SHVPES in January 2015.

Following a chance meeting at a gig in October 2009, vocalist Joby Fitzgerald and drummer Harry Jennings decided, over a mutual love for metal, that perhaps a jamming session was in order. Two weeks later, with the addition of Youssef Ashraf on guitar, the guys found themselves holed up in Madhouse Studios in Birmingham. Armed with nothing more than a fistful of ideas and the volume turned up to 11 they, along with Ollie Pike on bass duty, began laying the foundations for what would eventually become their debut EP. CYTOTA was born.
After a summer of practice, in late 2010 CYTOTA hit Tree House Studios in Chesterfield
