Nonpoint is an American nu metal/alternative metal band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida formed in 1991 under the name of Nonpoint Factor. They started out in a thrash/groove metal direction and released a few demos during this time. The band simplified the name to just Nonpoint in 1996 and went in a nu metal/alt metal direction before the release of their independent debut album Separate Yourself in 1997. In 2000, they released their major label debut and overall third album Statement, which remains one of their most popular albums.
Drummer Robb Rivera is the only original member that's been with the band from the start of when they were Nonpoint Factor, though vocalist Elias Soriano has been with the band since their debut album in 1997.
The band announced hiatus from touring in 2018.
