Staredown With A Mannequin is a metalcore / experimental metal project from Garret Taylor of Port Arthur in Texas.
"In this project, I really try to cover all the different aspects of metal with other influences of jazz, blues, classical, and whatever else I decide to pull out of my pocket. There are tastes of sweeps, solos, nintendo harmonies, djent chugs, foreskin slander, and the almighty slow, nasty breakdowns that make you want to punch babies. Then there's a whole lot of everything else. The vocals consist of melodic, epic, all ranges of screams/growls, all ranges of pig squeals, and quite possibly some cats getting raped by a gang of rhinos. There are also some tastes of electronic music/sounds ranging from industrial to black metal to metalcore to laser beams behind doorbell music."
