STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS is a progressive metal quartet from Birmingham, Alabama, United States. Stream Of Consciousness features a versatile lineup in both the vocal and instrumental arrangements, primarily attributable to Steven Lamphead. Not only does Lamphead have a very distinct tenor rock voice but his Chapman Stick playing adds a unique approach to the progressive metal style of the overall sound.
Stream Of Consciousness released their debut album Awakening in 2006; a 10 track concept album featuring three vocalists playing three distinct characters in the storyline. Even though the album has an operatic approach to it, Stream Of Consciousness manage to keep a solid grip on their progressive metal influences. Recommended for fans of symphonic metal with a twist!
