Subsist is a Christian metalcore band from Illinois, formed in 1996.

Five years full of failed attempts, new friends, member changes, musical maturation, and ideological shifts have brought us, as a band, to the point we are at today....sick to death of the idiocy of labeling, steroetypes, and popularity contests within the so-called "counter-cultures" of punk and hardcore, but individually focused on the things that we feel really matter in life: relationships, true musical and lyrical expression, and an honest search for truth in this world. The notes that we play and the words that we sing are simply outpourings of the emotions and the struggles that we have to live with and deal with every day of our lives. Nothing more.
