Well...Im thinking about going to the Decapitated, Decrepit Birth and Fleshgod Apocalypse gig on the 22nd of November but Im pretty busy at the moment and dont really feel up to it so itll be a decision Ill take on the day. Otherwise the next gig for me will be Cynic on the 18th of December 2011.

True, I'm not a fan of the new music. But everytime I see them, it's a solid gig.

Me, too. It would be a nice way to celebrate my - hopefully - upcoming promotion to associate professorship in December.

Since the venue for the Iced Earth show in Copenhagen has been changed to one in my neighborhood, I might go after all.

I'm seeing Iced Earth tonight. Not really excited as I've only heard one of their albums, but a friend talked me into coming. Right now I think I'd prefer a good night's sleep, but I suppose it will be fun.

Yeah thats also how I feel when going to a concert with an artist Im not terribly familiar with. Sometimes you get some really positive surprises. Ill mention the first time I saw Sonata Arctica as a good example of that. I had never heard of them (well it was in 2000 so not many had), and they completely blew me away.

It has Carved Up (post rock/metal), Admiral Browning (instrumental sludge metal), Exemption (experimental doom metal), and Ape! (doom metal/punk). Should be a fun night! Big smile This will be my third time seeing Carved Up and my second time seeing Ape!

Yeah... I heard that one of the support bands cancelled (not Chimp Spanner, but the other one).

What a great gig. Cynic ruled much more than I had expected. A review will follow.

I was hanging out by the door throughout the who concert, so you must have walked past me a couple of times. Paul Masvidal actually gently brushed against me during Chimp Spanner's show on his way from the bar to the band area upstairs.

Anyway, the Chimp Spanner drummer looked like he was having a really good time playing that kind of music and being on stage which I found a really sympathetic trait.

Yeah he was a great performer (and obviously extremely skilled too). The rest of the band were a bit too static though. I could have wished for a bit more showmanship.

...but I guess having seen Steve Vai a couple of times has completely spoiled me when it comes to seeing instrumental music live.
