I would assume that after some more ratings and reviews help balance out all the albums, there will be a top 100 album list or so.  Any clue if this will happen?

It's definitely on the agenda, we've discussed this a lot and I think, like you said, more ratings and reviews are needed first.

But for a "Top 50", the current ratings are not enough?

I'm not sure that Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt 2 is the most essential metal album ever made though LOL

lol, that list has been totally different every time I've seen it.

I'd be happy if Symbolic was #1, though Headbanger

It's below a Helloween album. LOL o gawd....
At least Rust in Piece and Still Life are in the top 10!
Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Testament. The real Big Four of thrash metal!

Jesus H Christ.  The first black metal album is at #19.  We're lacking in that demographic.

Shit. I might have to get my act together and rate/review some stuff; or, maybe, I could (subtly) start spreading Paysage D'Hiver & Darkspace propaganda around the forums Big smile

Im sure in time we will see a more realistic top 100. It does require more ratings and reviews though. I dont think you should count on seing many black metal acts in the upper regions of that list though Liam. Black metal is still a very extreme genre and its more likely youll see what most people perceive as metal "classics" high on the list. You know, albums like Master of Puppets and Number of the Beast. We dont necessarily have to agree with that, but Im pretty sure thats how the list will end up looking.
