Is Black Sabbath realy heavy metal

I was listening to an album called scream by ozzy, and it sounded heavy but is it realy heavy metal?

I think it�s safe to say that Black Sabbath is heavy metal beyond any doubt and Ozzy�s solo work too although the latter part of that is a bit more polished.

I can see why one would question if Black Sabbath are Metal pre-Dio. For every Symtom of the Universe there's a rock n roll doctor and a hard road, so with the confusion over classic rock taking heavy metal piineers like Zeppelin, Purple and Queen away from Metal, You can see how a younger fan ma not see how Sleeping Village is Metal when Hammer Smashed Face is too.

Yeah but thats all it took at the time.      Their first album is really heavy.       And theres at least 2-3 songs on their first 7 that are equal to the Zepp/Purple average.   And those bands only had about as many Metal-esque tracks in the same era.     Most of Zeppelin especially was folk, blues, country, prog or whatever else. But if you add up sll of Queen's son n daughters and keep on times. Theres a lot of Metally moments

If the song "Into the Void" is not heavy metal, well, NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS.
