Just been listening to it actually. I agree it's a great album. A better groove metal offering than Priest's Jugulator for starters. I agree about the diversity of it too. To be honest, the very first track would not sound out of place on a USPM album.
I'm still leaning more towards Painkiller though. I'll vote after I've heard the Fight album a couple more times.

I think War of Words is quite a diverse album, so I wouldn't call it 'just' a groove metal album. What it is is classic Halford, so I'm sure you'll like it. Voted Painkiller though. Much as I like War of Words, the only thing by Judas Priest or related acts that may stand a chance against it for me is Sad Wings of Destiny. |

I won't vote yet since I haven't heard the Fight album. It's on my (very long) list of albums to check out. I'm expecting to vote for Painkiller though out of style preference. Groove metal only rarely does anything for me.
