Stratovarius - Infinite, definitely the best Strato-album

For me it's a close one between: Symphony X - V Jag Panzer - Thane To The Throne Jag Panzer's best album by far, imo. |

Same here. I also like Dio, Helloween and Pain of Salvation. But I am actually missing most of my favorites from the year: Halford - Resurrection Lefay - SOS Ayreon - UM2: Flight of the Migrator Jag Panzer - Thane to the Throne Brainstorm - Ambiguity Tankard - Kings of Beer Hypnosia - Extreme Hatred Paradox - Collision Course The Haunted - Made me Do it Freak Kitchen - Dead Soul Men Skylcad - Folkemon Symphony X - V Racer X - Superheroes Macabre - Dahmer Deceased - Supernatural Addiction Napalm Death - enemy of the Music Business Malevolent Creation - Envenomed Nevermore - Dead Heart... Memory Garden - Mirage Tad Morose - Undead King Diamond - House of God Sacred Steel - Bloodlust |

Went for Nasum because I'm on a grindcore kick at the moment. That album really gave grind a good kick in the ass, showing it didn't have to be poorly produced mush, and it was still possible to produce a distinctive album in a straightjacketed genre without going too experimental.
Of the rest of them, Brave New World and Black Seeds Of Vengeance are excellent, and Reinventing The Steel is seriously underrated as a Pantera album. Most of the rest I either don't know (and in some cases don't wish to!) or they're not sticking out in my mind immediately (Overkill and Helloween). |

Sorry my mistake, The Forth Legacy is 1999: RYM has it tagged wrong. Namely they have a 2000 issue as the primary release instead of the original actual 1999 release that should be marked as such.
They have an even worse mistake on Symphony X's page though as they list The Damnation Game as being released before the self-titled debut: https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/symphony_x

For some reason I was thinking Damned in Black and V were released in 2001, and The Fourth Legacy in 1999.
Now for my vote, I'm going with Awake. Human 2.0 closely follows though.

none of those are my favourite but from the list I'd go for Iron Maiden. Albums I'd rate higher from that year not on the list include...
Halford - Resurection Deftones - White Pony Badlands - Dusk Vader - Litany Racer x - Superheroes Electric Wizard - Dopethrone

I agree with pretty much all of that, except the Immortal album, which I haven't heard. Brave New World is easily my favorite, but The Dark Ride and Mother Earth are high up there, with Mother Earth and V pretty close behind. A few others: Rhapsody - Dawn of Victory Immolation - Close to a World Below Ayreon - Universal Migrator 2: Flight of the Migrator In Flames - Clayman

nice I was initially thinking to continue but gave up (I might get back to it), I was even thinking to do some 70s polls, but there would have been some prog, hard rock/blues-rock/heavy psych (what some call proto-metal). Fates Warning's Disconnected got my vote. Edited by LittleBig - 14 Feb 2016 at 2:45am |

I have five of these but it's an easy vote for me: Brave New World.
Other highly rated metal albums for 2000 for me were: Kamelot - The Fourth Legacy Nightwish - Wishmaster Immortal - Damned in Black Within Temptation - Mother Earth Symphony X - V

Thought it would be fun to make some 2000's album polls continuing LittleBig's 90's polls. So, here's the albums from the year 2000 that I was able to think of, so pick your favorite. Feel free to say your favorite if it's not in this list.
