I'm still waiting for the separation of nu and alternative metal.

Totally agree with this. I'd suggest Neoclassical Metal as well as stoner and drone being added to the main sub-genres though.
I'd also be interested to see bigger genres broken up too as adg describes. I for example prefer my death metal technical and my black metal atmospheric. It would be nice to be able to have artists sorted like that. Right now I have to go to other sites to get that sort thing, so sounds essential to me. |

Yeah these two are actually our priority sub-genres to see added next, though we've also pitched the idea of having more child sub-genres (like how deathcore is under metalcore for example) in order to differentiate in larger varied styles like black metal, which we could have atmospheric, melodic, symphonic and depressive black under. But stoner and drone is definitely the bigger omission.

Yep, you're right. We do need to get a bit more granular with some of our subs. A number of changes have been proposed to the webmasters (still to be agreed) including two new top level subs, stoner and drone. So your thinking is on the same wavelength as ours ;-)

Hello,
Sorry if this topic has already been mentioned. What about adding the stoner and drone metal genres to the site? I think bands such as Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Earth and Sunn O))), actually categorized as doom, are a bit different than Candlemass or Pentagram for example...
