I've really slacked on checking out new albums this year. Going to try to do something about that in the remaining months of the year. Might even try to get back into reviewing, if I feel like it. Checking out the new Grave Digger right now and am quite impressed.

Enjoyed this one. Epic pagan black metal with some symphonic elements.

Hamferð didn't grab me too much when I tried it but I will give it another sometime. What I've heard of Tribulation sounds very promising though.

The 2 best albums of the year so far for me are Hamferð - Támsins Likam and Tribulation - Down Below.
In 3rd place would be Watain - Trident Wolf Eclipse.

I've listened to a handful of 2018 albums so far. Right now my favourite is Kayleth's release. Which you could say is something of a dark horse so far since I don't tend to go for the stoner bands too often. I really enjoyed this one's spacey sound though.
Black Cyclone - Death is King is also quite a good one. Quite fun thrash/speed metal. I'm quite enjoying the new one from Arkona though it's proving a slow burn. Rebellion is undoutedly a step down from their usual standard but I'm still enjoying it quite a bit. |

My first 2018 review, finally. Been feeling a bit of the old burnout again.

These are all the albums I've heard so far that I've enjoyed:
Fu Manchu - Clone of the Universe (Stoner Metal/Rock) Spartan Warrior - Hell to Pay (Heavy Metal) Saxon - Thunderbolt (Heavy Metal) Loudness - Rise to Glory (Heavy Metal) Visigoth - Conqueror's Oath (Heavy Metal) Black Label Society - Grimmest Hits (Heavy Metal/Stoner Metal/Southern Rock) Kayleth - Colossus (Stoner Metal/Rock) Joe Satriani - What Happens Next (Hard Rock/Instrumental Rock) Corrosion of Conformity - No Cross No Crown (Stoner Metal) Phil Anselmo and the Illegals - Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue (Sludge Metal/Death Metal) The new Fu Manchu is my AOTY as of now, though I expect the new Judas Priest to surpass it. It's been a good year so far, especially on the classic heavy metal end.

It's never too early to start this I guess. Discuss and list everything that is 2018 in metal, as well as hard rock and hardcore punk here.
I haven't written any reviews for 2018 releases yet, but I've started checking out a few (all draft ratings):
And this is everything I currently have on my radar to check out:
