MMA Reviewer's Challenge April 2018

Yes, anything goes. Just not new releases. 

One thing I've been thinking od doing for a while and this would be a good time to start, is I have a bunch of old reviews on RYM from when I started out and they're far too poorly written to ever bring over here. Instead, I've been thinking of going back and revisiting some of those albums and then writing brand new reviews in my current style. This is something I'd probably carry on with well after the challenge. Obviously, anything I do for this will be posted here first, and then over time I'll update my old RYM reviews with the new and improved versions.

Question: Is it okay if I post my reviews on my blog first since this seems to be a bit of a free-for-all?

Yes please! I intend to post some reviews tomorrow (Sunday) morning, which will be Saturday night for the civilized world. I can stick them on a list later on.

I wasn't going to bother but might be an idea for you to at least just comment on any early ones in case of time zone differences. 

Since this is very close to starting here are a few extra details on the scoring, which I've volunteered to be in charge of:

This isn't a contest, the scoring is only there for us to keep track of events and see how well this idea works. If it does we may do it again sometime, though I expect the next Reviewer's Challenge will use a more traditional method.

As I won't be around 24/7, I think the best way for score to be kept track of if if I comment the points awarded on each review: that way in the event that I do miss one, poissibly due to it falling off the home page before I can see it, you can comment on your own review to draw attention to it again. That or just PM me. But do one or the other if I haven't commented on your review within 24 hours, if you believe it should have earned points.

Yeah, and when I checked through power metal albums, I noticed a bunch of my favorites that had no ratings, so my goal is to get 4-5 of those done during the challenge, then continue working through them over time after the challenge, while still balancing it out with my promo reviews, of course.
