im going to go with death.
they were one of the first death metal bands i ever heard and, as such, have quite a nostalgic feel for me.

I vote for Bolt Thrower. Some of my favorites are not here such as Benediction, Hypocrisy, Monstrosity, and Morgoth.

I went with Death, but I love Atheist, Cynic, Bolt Thrower, Opeth, Carcass, At The Gates, and Suffocations. I was surprised by Obituary's absence from the list.

Opeth out of that list, though Death and Arch Enemy come pretty close.

I only wanted to include the most "popular" death metal bands here. There are a lot of other bands I would've included, but I tried to just limit it to the classics. |

You indeed forgot a few. *snicker*
Went for Death. Can't go wrong with the master Chuck. EDIT: one you could have included to make the poll more eclectic is The Chasm, which doesn't really fall into any set death subgenre. And they kick ass to boot. Edited by topofsm - 03 Jan 2011 at 7:14pm |

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

Hard one here between Opeth, Edge of Sanity, and Death.
But I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and go with Death.

Really? I've actually never heard anybody say that about Opeth... on the other hand, I've heard tons of progheads say that Opeth isn't progressive. Hearing that always makes me laugh. |
