I've added some genre statistics at the bottom of the presentation.

Still haven't checked out that VOLA.

Anyone who loves brutal death metal mixed with neoclassical power metal much like Necrophagist should check out that Archspire.

Thanks for doing the list as always!

Anyone who likes sludge or wants Obituary put through a sludge filter should check out Dridge, wish it had made it into the top 25, but it wasn't far off.

Also great to see Limp Bizkit in there even though nobody else voted for them lol. My most listened to 2021 album by quite a bit, everything about it was so fun and just what I wanted.

There's loads I haven't heard and a good few on my list that don't feature on other member's lists (including Aenigmatum to whom I gave the top spot). That's the beauty of a vote like this - so many recommendations sitting in one place for everyone to peruse

Yes Paul, great work!

My bet was Carcass's Torn Arteries being in #1, but it seems that Iron Maiden got the prize!

Great work, Paul!

And yeah, I must have been one of the few who had Maiden near the top, so I'm very happy to see them win! I've always loved their longer, more complex works, as well as their more subtle side, so that album was always going to appeal to me, lol Also glad to see my top pick, Helloween, in the top three. They truly did manage to turn back the clock on that one!

Thanks everyone.

Maiden were generally around 1/3 of the way down on most lists that they featured on but the sheer number of people who included them ensured them the no 1 spot. I guess it's an album that's highly regarded but not universally loved.

Excellent work Paul!

Quite a few in here I've never even heard of this year.

Yep. I'm not terribly keen on the new album, but Maiden was my top artist on Spotify for the year.Wink

It only made my list, because I didn´t have time to listen to other 2021 albums that I´m sure I would have enjoyed more. To my ears it´s another mediocre Iron Maiden album that´ll grow dust on the shelf...but to each his own, and it´s great that others seem to like it better than me.
