Gene Adam, I've always loved their debut. It's pretty close in sound to classic Helstar.

I would agree, but it's a compilation album and I was considering their main studio albums only. Days...also didn't include two songs from Stormrider. I always felt they did their fans dirty by omitting them, also odd that they did include the two shorter interlude type tracks which would have been much easier to live without. In terms of improvements though, the Days... versions of the debut's songs are more important for me than Stormrider's.

agreed in terms of compositions, but... the Days of Purgatory versions of those songs with Matt Barlow are better

Got to say I feel a bit sorry for John Greely sitting up there with no votes, considering he has the distinction of being on my favourite of their albums. I had to go with Barlow myself, but Stormrider is still their best album IMO.

That's such an underappreciated album by them. Also Ripper's second album with them, part 1 of the Something Wicked duo, is definitely the stronger of those two.

I went with Ripper because I really like The Glorious Burden.

It was a tough call between Barlow and Block but I ultimately went w/ Block.

Block. He had the pipes to be the best of both worlds that are Barlow and Owens. Too bad Jon went and fucked it all up.
