Falconer's Armod is excellent, and Slough Feg have released some awesome material, too. They recently reissued a number of their older albums. Great stuff! |

I've been listening to a bit of folk metal lately...namely:
Cruachan...great Celtic stuff! Waylander Elvenking Falconer Primordial Orphaned Land....maybe not the folkiest but still some elements Ensiferum Finntroll Slough Feg ...I plan to check out many others as this is a genre I've neglected for far too long(at least in comparison to other genres)

So the new Turisas album is to be called Turisas2013. No joke.
Quite possibly the most uncreative, not to mention worst, album name ever. Let's hope the actual music is more imaginative.

I haven't listened to many folk metal albums for this year yet, but Elvenking are now on top of that small list with their best metal album since their debut. |

They operate out of Austrailia, but the main guy is ethnically Chinese at least.

Hey Adam, check out that band if you haven't done that yet - it's a pagan folk metal with Slavic and Celtic elements.
I kinda like it so you, as a folk metal fan, should love it Oh and I forgot to add that they're on Spotify.

Nice to see folk finally getting some attention around here.
Good thing, the folk metal sub is in desperate need of some ratings: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/folk-metal(subgenre).aspx#top-albums
