I'm a bit annoyed that their logo isn't in the same style as it has been for all their past releases. I felt that was one of their things and it kind of loses it in the album cover.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I definitely see the Screaming for Vengeance / Defenders of the Faith style ever since he brought it up.

^That's really true actually, in terms of color schemes and things. Though to be honest I feel that with a different font or something it could also easily be an indie album cover.

My brother mentioned the new cover reminded him of 80s Priest.

It makes me excited for the music, that's for sure. You can tell it's not going to be another Crack the Skye

I like the new album art!
At first I was thinking "what the fuck is this shit?" but I grew to like it in a fun type of way. Ya know? It's so silly and kind of terrible it's cool, and Mastodon are no fools...that may have been their intent. Besides, tough to get more metal than a beast with 4 horns, 8 ears and 3 mouths! It is cool but probably still my least favorite Pretty much what Jonas said:

I'm disappointed by that cover. I like how it breaks away from their art style, but that's about it.
