It hasn't come out yet, but I'm confident the upcoming Iron Maiden album will make the list.
I'm super psyched for that one! |

Both are non-metal, but I absolutely adore Pain of Salvation's Road Salt One and Spock's Beard's X.

I'd say that my 2 favorite metal albums of 2010 so far are Ratt's Infestation and Scorpions Sting of the Tail. Although, I must admit that I probably haven't heard that many 2010 metal albums so far this year.

i haven't heard many 2010 albums, but so far my favorite has to be Ihsahn's "After". I think it's his best solo release by far and I dare say it may be the best album he's played on, and this is coming from an Emperor fan.

Well as of now I only have two albums from 2010 rated five stars, Bleeding Through by Bleeding Through and The Family Jewels by Marina & The Diamonds. I have a feeling Down the Way by Angus & Julia Stone may join them.

Haven't bought that many 2010 albums so far but my 2 favs are both from Italian prog bands; the new albums from Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno and La Maschera di Cera. |

MEM was patchy, with snippets of brilliance. Always found myself flicking, then obsessing over one or two tracks; it has been a similar relationship with Have One On Me. Ys I really got into, took a long time, but the longer song formats really clicked. In some regards I'm missing her piquant accent that has dissipated somewhat over the years. The piano does not do much for me either in this environ. I'll keep it spinning for a while to come as no doubt her intriguing mien will win me over in the end.

Circle of Ouroborus released an amazing neofolk album "Hiljaiset Sanat" this year, although they are commonly black metal. It's probably the best thing I've heard so far this year, too bad it was limited to a frigging 100 handnumbered tapes, luckily I managed to get tape number "100/100", haha.
Cosmic Church and Tyhjyys released great debut albums this year also, amazing melancholic black metal in the usual Finnish way. And from non-metal-related, I have greatly enjoyed the new albums of Midlake and Shearwater. Edited by Vehemency - 07 Apr 2010 at 5:08am |
