Part the Second hands down. But I do like Damnation and Coyote a whole lot too. Shadows of the Sun is cool as well.

Is Porcupine Tree a metal band, though ? More like a rubber band, amirite? <laugh track>

Considered Mauldlin, Kayo, Opeth and Whitesnake - four great albums I'm glad I have in my collection. In the end I went for Ulver.

Restless Heart is a really good overlooked Whitesnake album - superior to anything they've released since IMO. I'll give it my vote though Opeth came close.

easy voting here - Opeth - Damnation. I also like Restless Heart a lot, although Whitesnake is not a metal band, and Porcupine Tree isn't either.

Paradise Lost - Host is an album I like a lot, too. Guilty pleasure I guess LOL

Though if the dark ambient influences didn't win me over, I would have gone with Empyrium.

The Sky Moves Sideways is my favorite out of these, but Damnation is right up there with it.

It's definitely a good one.  I recommend it as well. Thumbs Up

Been on a bit of a SIG:AR:TYR trip lately. Will likely have reviews for the other albums up soon. Great project, every release retains key elements yet manages to sound completely different.

I've gone with SIG:AR:TYR - The Stranger. I'm actually really pleased to see such an unknown release in this poll. Clap

I say again that Damnation was the obvious choice, but re-listening to The Strange right now and there can be no other choice. This is really masterful dark folk ambient or whatever you want to call it. Wink

Part The Second. I didn't take PT and KD into consideration though.

Definitely going to say Damnation. I like all of Opeth's albums, and don't always get why some people don't like Damnation, I actually like it a lot.

You forgot Metallica's Load TongueWink. Though in all seriousness, Porcupine Tree is hardly a metal band on it's own, at least all their albums I've listened to have been primarily alt/prog (FOAB, Deadwing, TSMS, The Incident, Stupid Dream).

I voted for Part the Second.
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I've only listened to A Wintersunset and quite dig it.  My first listen to Empyrium was their song addition to the neofolk split called Whom the Moon a Nightsong Sings.  If that non metal album of theirs is like this, I'll probably dig it as well.
