How have I not made this list? Going to pick ONLY 10, and ONLY 1 PER BAND:
Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell Dio - Holy Diver Queensryche - Rage For Order Fates Warning - No Exit Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind Dream Theater - Awake Slayer - Show No Mercy King Diamond - Abigail Katatonia - Discouraged Ones There are many more I could pick....but I'm sticking to 10.

The King decision was tough. I'm just a mark for "Sleepless Nights."

^I think there are a couple of yours I´d probably also put on my list. "Dirt" in particular, but also "South of Heaven", "Appetite" and "Blessed". I´d probably pick "Abigail" and not "Conspiracy" and "Don´t Break the Oath" over "Melissa", but yeah King Diamond would also be heavily represented on my list.

In no particular order but the ones towards the top obviously came to mind first:
FNM-Angel Dust GNR-Appetite Priest-Unleashed Slayer-South of Heaven Morbid Angel-Blessed are the Sick Deicide-s/t Death-Symbolic Angel Witch-s/t Black Sabbath-Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Mercyful Fate-Melissa Skid Row-Slave to the Grind Megadeth-Countdown to Extinction Opeth-My Arms, Your Hearse Helloween-Keeper of the 7 Keys Part 2 Emperor-Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk Cradle of Filth-Cruelty and the Beast Alice in Chains-Dirt Led Zeppelin-Physical Graffiti Rush-2112 King Diamond-Conspiracy That is 20. That was difficult. The first 3 are always close to my mind, regardless of genre discussed. I would gladly take poor quality copies so I could stretch my gigs. :) |

^The premise was 10 - 20 albums...I guess you´ve reached that limit by now . But I know the feeling. I don´t think I would be able to chose either...an impossible task.

If we are just talking metal (or close to it):
1. Symphony X - The Odyssey 2. Dream Theater - Images And Words 3. Opeth - Ghost Reveries 4. Blind Guardian - Nightfall In Middle-Earth 5. Iced Earth - Night Of The Stormrider 6. Kamelot - Ghost Opera (yes, I think it's their best) 7. Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape 8. Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell 9. Megadeth - Rust In Peace 10. Queensryche - Rage For Order More than 10 I would add: Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast Within Temptation - The Unforgiving (w/bonus tracks, of course) Jag Panzer - Thane To The Throne Dark Tranquillity - Character Evergrey - Torn Eluveitie - Helvetios Metallica - Master Of Puppets Judas Priest - British Steel Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard Of Ozz Anthrax - Among The Living Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys, pt 1 (better than pt. 2, imo) Fates Warning - Perfect Symmetry Dokken - Under Lock And Key (had to put one hair band in there :p ) Nightwish - Once

Depending on what kind of island you're on, this could be one of the most epic things ever experienced by man. |

Amorphis - Skyforger Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine: Biomech Those are the only two metal albums I would want to listen to for who-knows-how-long, based on their depth and the fact that I will be on that island for an indefinite amount of time. I was actually going to make a desert island reference in my review of Ocean Machine, but it was never written. I really gotta get around to doing that. |
