Dissection were quite innovative of the melodic black metal style. At the time, it was pretty fresh. And I don't really see any similarity to King Diamond. (the artwork similarities to Abigail doesn't mean jack shit! )

I wouldn't call Dissection Black metal but rather King Black Diamond Death metal. It gets my vote anyway. |

Dark space I, but it would have been closer if it was up against Ultima Thul�e.
not heard Somberlain, have Storm of the Light's Bane which is a little too melodic for my tastes and never investigated further. Dark Medieval Times is my preferred Satyricon |

Currently (as of 12/8/2011) top four black metal albums on this site. They're all good albums in their own right (I would know, almost all the top black metal albums here have a five star rating from me), but what do you believe is the best?
