I'm a bit fed up with the endless sub genres that are created and rarely find that a bands complete discography 'fits' such a limitation. I did vote Progressive Death but only because of my love of Opeth otherwise it would have been Doom.

I would agree that those are both masterpieces and have progressive tendencies, especially Part II, but I wouldn't call either a progressive power metal album as such. For my money though, Gambling With the Devil is the 2nd best Helloween album.

Tough choice between prog-black/death/sludge. I think I'll pick sludge because I prefer that style of music with a more proggy edge (with exceptions of course), whereas much of the black and death metal I listen to is more varied (especially death metal).

Well, the two first Keeper of the Seven Keys albums strike me as having progressive tendencies, at least in some of the songs, and they are just about the best power metal albums out there, for my money. |

I'll say progressive death, since I prefer my death metal with a progressive aspect (technical works too).
Progressive power may have been the more obvious choice for me, since prog and power are easily my top 2 metal genres, but the thing is I honestly couldn't care less if my power metal was progressive or not. And many of the best power metal albums aren't progressive in the slightest.

Progressive Death is probably the best, although Progressive Black and Progressive Power are extremely wonderful as well

Progressive death metal for me, although traditional progressive metal (Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Pain of Salvation, etc.) is my favorite. I'd have a very tough time getting by without some Opeth and Edge of Sanity!
