   I'm intrigued to know if there are music artists (not exclusively in metal who have albums with academic / artsy concepts or design. In terms of like, rational extension of genres to the point of absurdity (something like Bunkur's Nullify, or Orthrelm's OV) or avant garde musicians trying their hand at reinterpreting metal, Francisco Lopez's Untitled #104. 

Any you can suggest along similar lines? The more challenging the better!
