Has anyone heard Edge of the World from Glenn Tipton?
I have Baptizm of Fire and it is pretty good. I never realized what an awesome lineup of musicians that he had playing with him. John Entwistle from The Who is featured on bass and Cozy Powell from just about everywhere is featured on drums. In addition to these legends, Billy Sheehan of Mr. Big/Niacin fame also plays some bass, and Don Airey of Rainbow/Deep Purple fame makes an appearance on organ.
At any rate, apparently, Edge of the World includes songs that were recorded in 1997 at the time of Baptizm but weren't released until 2006. This album includes some of the last recordings by bassist John Entwistle and drummer Cozy Powell prior to their deaths. Apparently, the record studio wanted Tipton to use younger musicians so music that was recorded by Entwistle and Powell was cut from Baptizm and hadn't seen the light of day until Edge of the World. Anyhow, I've not heard this album yet, but I am quite intrigued by it, and I am wondering if anyone else has heard it.
