I went for Industrial but prog and alt are just as good........don't mind a bit of Thrash either. Like them all but as you should most likely have noticed not keen on Symphonic.

My friend "The Block" Death Metal sometimes became very progressive

Thrash for me. It was hard as hell to decide though 'cause I love Glam and N.W.O.B.H.M. too. But my beloved Megadeth and Anthrax belong to the Thrash corner and so do all of thier delightful little friends, Death Angel, Annihilator, Suicidal Tendancies etc. etc. How could I say no to that?

Progressive Metal for me too, though occasionally I find myself really liking Death metal and NWoBHM just as much.

I never can choose at these kind of polls. My favorite bands are divided over several subgenres, so I really can't pick jut one.
It would either be avant-garde, progressive or sludge/post-metal. I suppose if you'd place a gun against my head it would be avant-metal. But as long as there's no gun I won't vote.

Progressive Metal of course. Without wishing to underestimate the other bands and sub-genres i think that the progressive metal bands show the way straight forward to the future.
And by the way yesterday i was listening after a long time Queensryche's "Rage For Order". What an album! |

Prog metal (no surprise there), but I also love traditional HM, thrash metal, death metal, and power metal (not the cheesy kind). Of course, I have eclectic tastes, so I like a handful of albums from every genre.
