Rob Halford's voice has been compared to Peter Hammill's voice at times.  I see it a little bit.  Can't really compare Judas Priest to VDGG however.

not one is interested that is indeed sad Cry  but for my own i think some Opeth is sort of VDGG sounding, dark and brooding with experessing vocals
