I can not make one of my "Metal Top 5". There are days where I want to be a fan of Death and Black and days where only Hard Rock me like... Days Prog Rock (and Prog Metal)...
In any case, these albums are recurring in my mind: 1. Macbeth "Romantic Tragedy Crescendo" (For the emotions it arouses in me) 2. Magnum: "Vintage Magnum" (For the music) 3. Dream Child: "Reaching The Golden Gates" (For the beauty of music and because the music is technical) 4. Mike Portnoy: "Prime Cuts" (For... Mike Portnoy, one of my all time preferred drummers) 5. Blind Guardian: "Tokio Tales" (For the music)

I realize I am bumping an old thread but it's new to me so I wanted to chime in.
It is fascinating (to me) to read y'all's choices not knowing anything about your ages or homes or backgrounds. I love the bizareness (IMO) of some of the lists. And I feel free to say that because I am sure some of y'all will find my list bizarre.
Not in order:
Appetite for Destruction-GNR
Hell Bent for Leather-Judas Priest
Angel Dust-Faith No More
Blessed are the Sick-Morbid Angel
Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk-Emperor
5 that made me agonize over top five picked:
My Arms, Your Hearse-Opeth
Deicide-Deicide
"Them"-King Diamond
No More Color-Coroner
Slave to the Grind-Skid Row

I only had Painkiller, Angel of Retribution (under rated/under known?) and British Steel which I actually am not a big fan of....My younger brother suggested I try Sad Wings and from listen one I loved it.
We were gunna see the Judas Priest 3 year farewell tour but KK Downing has retired as we know....still gunna go for it but it's not quite the same : ( |
