THIS WILL DESTROY YOU: Texas Eclectic Instrumentalists Announce March Tour
Texas instrumental collective, THIS WILL DESTROY YOU, will take to the streets this Spring with a short run of live excursions. Set to begin March 12th in Phoenix and close in March 22nd in Denver, the band will head West bringing their sonic dreamscapes to ten US cities.
THIS WILL DESTROY YOU released Live In Reykjavik, Iceland last Fall via Magic Bullet Records. Capturedat Harpa Concert Hall, Live In Reykjavik, Iceland was engineered by Finnur Hákonarson, mixed by Alex Bhore and Charlie Vela, mastered by Alan Douches and delivers eleven emotionally consuming live renditions of material spanning three epic albums (Young Mountain, S/T and Tunnel Blanket). Christened, "a monumental celebration of their artistry," by Echoes And Dust, who furthers, "their music has the power to create a vortex in our brain and even their tranquil moments are just as powerful as deafening ones," Live In Reykjavik seamlessly cultivates some of the most grandiose moments of each album into one otherworldly audio outpouring of eloquent despondency and continues to reap praise from fans and media both Stateside and abroad. Slug commends the band's "...dynamic surges of music and noise, enveloping everything around me so I felt completely alone in the crowded room, diving into my own head as the music crescendoed into a calming wall of sound," while The Austin Chronicle adds, "Proffering wordless communication in a manner that's more orchestral than classic rock, San Marcos' THIS WILL DESTROY YOU eschews solos and bears down on intense waves of sound on this old-fashioned double-live LP. 'Communal Blood' and 'Glass Realms' could be erupting from a symphony instead of four indie rock musicians, drums evoking timpani and gongs and guitars taking on timbres more in line with massive string sections than amplified instruments."
