I bought Swallow The Sun - Songs From The North pt I, II & III
 I think this is the first doom metal album I've ever bought. Mind you, I've listened to some doom metal, just never bought any. Anyways, have only had a chance to listen to the first disc so far, and the first disc is fantastic!!! Just based on the first disc this would make my Top-10 albums for 2015. Normally I'm not much of a fan of doom metal. Either the sound will be too rough, or the music a bit to weird/oddball. But this STS is a very nice mix of melodic and melancholy, lyrics are great, and the production is very good. |

Blind purchase in a local charity shop. Can't got far wrong for £1.25. They did have some other hard rock and metal albums, but this was the only one I either didn't have or knew wasn't my thing.

Got a voucher and cash for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Finally
spent it today. For a grand total of $35 (out of the bank I mean) I got:
      And some stuff we haven't got pictures of: Dig That Groove Baby - The Toy Dolls (squeaky voiced comedy punk, but seriously good guitar) Monsterpiece - Horrorstory (NZ horror punk a la The Misfits) Patriotic Shock - Total Chaos (not heard it yet, but hoping for some serious Discharge/GBH/Exploited type punk from the one song I have heard in the past) Armageddon Over Wacken Live 2004 (3 disc live compilation we don't have yet, but will be added to V.A. in due course) Fiesta Comes Alive: The Best of Slap A Ham Records Fiesta Grande #1-5 (live compilation which may or may not be suitable for our database, although it does feature Discordance Axis, Phobia, The Locust, Gob, Noothgrush and Benumb.
