I like it though it does rank fourth out of four for me, out of their albums.

I have to say though its technically good and produced really well, the songs are unexciting, they never really go anywhere, pretty solid album but it has me underwhelmed.  A good prog album should give me the wow factor but this doesn't, maybe it'll take a few more listens.

The only Haken release from the demo forward that I never got. Just never got around to it. Not sure I ever will as no-one I've heard from is bowled over by this release seemingly.

I def am not impressed, I will be giving it another chance in case I wasn't in a "prog state of mind" sometimes this sort of stuff don't suit my musical mood ;)

I've been suffering from something of a burnout on the more traditional prog metal stuff over the last year when it comes to new releases but Affinity's one of the few such albums that's managed to grab me. It took a few listens though.

^ I will be giving it a few more listens in case its a grow'er..I like prog to take me on a journey where my mind will wander with the music, but this did'nt.  I was getting to the point i was getting bored with the album and was looking forward to it ending.

^ That's how I feel about most prog metal albums from the last couple of years.

This one grew on me though I do think it could do with another clear standout. I love 1985 and The Architect, but the rest is merely solid.

Anyway, just got the following albums cheap on Amazon:

This will complete my Cruachan collection.

I actually bought this once before but the seller cancelled the order. Apparently Musicmagpie or zoverstocks/estocks as they called themselves on Amazon and ebay at one point, list stuff for sale before they've graded the condition. Angry Or they list the same items on multiple sites and lie in the event they manage to sell the same item twice.

Recently picked up an Iron Maiden Powerslave cassette tape for cheap, and found out that I got myself a pretty rare find. Cheapest I've seen this specific cassette for sale is 66 dollars on Ebay, and apparently there were few sold soon before Castle went bankrupt.

Never thought I'd get such a rarity on my hands! Shocked

The CD version of this. Thought it must have been a bootleg, but it's legit. The addition of the industrial percussion makes for an interesting listen.

I've had it since it was released and am still somewhat underwhelmed by it though the in odd moment it takes off and gets a bit more exciting.

Sadly I've had to strike the Oathbreaker album from my birthday gifts as the CD turned out to be faulty. Angry

It's been re-ordered for me but God knows when I'll get it.

Anyway on a happier note, Xmas CD haul:

I got a few for Xmas, some on vinyl, some CD.  Mainly old stuff I've been wanting to add to my collection for some time...

Order from I, Voidhanger Records, one of my favoured sources for black metal.

2015 remaster:

and I also found Led Zeppelin I on vinyl (in the Led Zeppelin III sleeve) in the dollar bin at the record store. I wish it was Led Zeppelin III, as I like that album more, but at least it's still a Led Zeppelin album that was in the sleeve.
