I used to be a huge Thrash fan, but Death metal has taken over.  Saying that, there are some incredible Thrash bands out there, Coroner being one of my favourites along with Kreator, Sodom, Morbid Saint and Slayer.

Death Angel has announced they are working on a new album to be released in spring next year. As their last album was fantastic, I'm looking forward to this!

I don´t think it´s meant as a general observation, but a personal opinion on his own tastes, which Means that death metal is more important to him than thrash metal. The same with me Smile

Thrash was my first passion though, but when death metal began it´s short by sweet reign in 1990-1991 to 1993-1994, I was a big part of that scene. Both as a music listener and as a musician. I´ve never played thrash. I still love it though Clap

Kreator, Guillotine, Slayer, Destruction, Testament, Dark Order, Sacred Reich and Savage Messiah are a few of my favourite thrash metal bands.

One of my favourite thrash metal bands recently has been a band called 4Arm. I can recommend Submission for Liberty and their latest album Survivalist as great listens if anyone is interested.

Great bands, love Kreator, Slayer, and Testament. I'm going to have to check the others out at some point. Clap

4Arm is definitely a great recent thrash band, Survivalist has a great blend of melody and speed.

Dark Order are pretty good if you like 4Arm, good blend of melody and thrash too. Cold War of the Condor is a good album to check out if you are interested.

^I need to check out Vektor at some point, I've heard a lot of good things about them.

I recently discovered the band Meliah Rage, really great yet underrated band.
Their debut album is an absolute killer!

My brother who got me into metal had that album. I remember back in 1989-1990, the years where I raided his collection for my own investigative purposes I gave that album a chance. I kinda liked it but I was not blown away. I told my brother that and he said, "well, did you pay attention to the Pack?", which is the last song on the album. I hadn't really. I did. It was awesome.

Getting back to Vektor (it's a disease, I can't help it!), I uploaded on my blog the review I had written for Metal Hammer (also found on this site, which is where the translation comes from!) but also the interview I did with David DiSanto. Which I think is very cool and interesting. Check them out if you want:

^That´s a cool interview. He sounds like a nice guy with many great ideas. I´ll be looking forward to their third album. Hopefully this year.

The Pack is probably my favorite on the album, the drums are absolutely killer. Their second album, Solitary Solitude, is really great too.

Currently listening to one of my favorite Overkill songs, and that bassline during the bridge is one of my favorite riffs to play on bass:

Thrash in general seems to be made for bassists.

^True, but that's why this exists:

Although I'll admit it's kind of odd, as I've gotten so used to the original sound.
