^Harmony Corruption and Utopia Banished are essential listens, the two best Napalm Death albums imo. From Enslavement to Obliteration is pretty good too, but that's more on the grindcore side.

Read a couple of luke-warm reviews of this but I'm loving it!

^ Yes, me too. I've only heard bits. Have a couple of theirs on my wants list but as they're not high priority I may never get them as my list grows faster than I can afford to buy.

I've been meaning to listen to Origin for years but never have done so.
For my money these are the death metal albums I've really enjoyed this year: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/tchornobog/tchornobog Black/death metal. http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/divine-element/thaurachs-of-borsu Melodic death metal. http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/artificial-brain/infrared-horizon Tech/brutal death metal. http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/hideous-divinity/adveniens Tech death. Need to review this one still. http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/deus-otiosus/opposer Old school death. One of the few bands in this niche I really like.

I haven't heard all of them myself yet but that Hideous Divinity is one of my favourites. Origin are great and well worth checking out. Despite incredible technique it's not all style over substance.

That Tchornobog album is a lot to take in but I'm enjoying it.
I've been meaning to give Divine Element a listen, though I'd rather Ayloss concentrated on getting a new Spectral Lore album out. Couldn't get on with the vocals on that Artificial Brain album but otherwise it seemed very good. |

Just listened to this one today. Pretty standard old school US death metal, but still a pretty solid release:
