Out of pure curiosity, what made you choose these two albums? Not bad choices, at all! :-)

Is Dante any good? I just stopped buying any Sepultura albums beyond Roots because IMO they just went downhill, but Dante and A-lex got some praise. Nonetheless I don't trust them enough to buy any of those 2.

I really like it! Smile

They were actually the only two Drudkh albums at the nearby HMV.  I'd listened to a chunk of Songs Of Grief and Solitude a few days prior and liked what I heard.  The other one was on sale.

I went to Sunrise Records afterwards, and saw they had Blood in Our Wells their, and I like the songs I've heard on that one too.  I'll get it probably next time I go to the mall because I felt I'd spent enough money for one day.

Actually, my problem isn't th absence of Max. Derek is a much better singer in almost every way. The thing is that they went too far on the alternative metal stuff. I mean, Pantera ventured into that territory but never sucked too much, they managed to have some standards, but not Sepultura. Chaos AD is average and Roots is so bad that I can't even listen to half the album. Compare those 2 with Arise and Beneath the remains and you can see that they are one of the fastest decaying metal artist ever! Just straight to the bottom. Shocked

But maybe I'll check Dante and A-Lex.Smile

Could you see if the first CD is ok? I was checking some tracks over the web and the mix of the Blackwater Park set were so loud that many instruments were just unlistenable.

I don't think they were overly loud. I played them at the same volume as I usually do with headphones and it sounded fine. Of course it's rougher than the studio thing though.

I was pretty impressed by that disc though. It sounded very passionate, fierce, and some parts (Harvest) were very different from the studio version.

Great. I was afraid the whole album was worse than Death Magnetic/The Final Frontier. Smile
