Yes. And I know it has sequels (and a prequel coming this year). But it itself doesn't tend to be well regarded judging by it's RYM score (1.98/5.00) or critical reception.

I may sound rude but I don't care about scores and critical perception. It's still subjective.
I need to make my own opinion anyway.

The sequels are at least entertaining. I saw them and don't regret it.

Look at all the critical acclaim that The Last Jedi got. Personally I think it's one of the worst SW movies.

Two films last night:

Elysium (2013) - really enjoyed this one!

It Follows (2014) - weak ending IMO but otherwise good.

Take Me (2017) - A comedy featuring Taylor Schilling from Orange is the New Black. Recommended.

The Villainess (2017)
After ten years of servitude to a top secret government organization, a female assassin thinks she's "free" to live a new life on the outside - but people from her past keep dragging her back in. Bullets fly, cars crash, stuff blows up, etc.
This South Korean flick was somewhat hard to follow (tho that could be my fault - beer and sub-titles are not a good combination!) but the action scenes are pure balls-to-the-wall ultra-violent mayhem so I was entertained.

I´ve seen Elysium twice, just to make sure why I didn´t enjoy it much. I´m still not sure, but a second viewing didn´t help. It´s just not a movie I appreciate.

Changed my mind since the sequel was on Amazon Prime. Actually turned out to be a better film.

Last film I watched was Black Panther. Reasonably true to the comics and pretty well done.

Off World (2013), also known as Dark Space - this is very much a B movie and one that's been very trashed in whatever reports I read about it. It wasn't that bad, but didn't really deliver on its premise either. I expected a full blown sci-fi horror movie. It had the sci-fi, but the horror went AWOL somewhere in development. A lot of wasted potential.

Annabelle (2014) - This The Conjuring spin-off got really slated compared to its parent film, but I really failed to see what was so bad about it. I don't remember much about The Conjuring itself unfortunately (keep hoping it'll either be put back on Prime or on Netflix or I find the DVD), but I enjoyed this film.

^I´m not sure I fully agree about it being among the best dystopian sci-fi flicks out there, which seems to be the consensus among many fans of the genre, but it´s definitely interesting and pretty different from most other films in similar universes.

Last two films watched:

Waterworld (1995) - despite it's rather middling reputation I really enjoyed this film. Not a masterpiece by any means but I'd happily see this again sometime.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - decided to try something a bit different to my usual taste in films with this one. I enjoyed it a lot.

Went to see BLACK PANTHER on opening weekend. It was outstanding although not perfect. Think comic book movie and don't get into the silliness of some of the details and all good. 3D viewing recommended

I really need to start seeing the MCU films. I've watched all the netflix TV shows that are part of it up until Jessica Jones season 2. Netflix has a few of the films but not the first ones.

I loooooove MCU films, however they are not all equally outstanding. There have been some real duds but they have recently been consistently entertaining. I highly recommend the first Captain America, the first Avengers, Dr Strange and the Iron Man movies. And X Men of course but crap like Ghost Rider and the first Daredevil are a total waste of time.
