^ Ha ha, yes that's a problem with a lot of these band logos. It's Disowning.

Yep - certainly the best of the best. This mob blow me away.
Me, really an old-school Progger, I’ve only discovered this DM genre the last few tears. The fuck I’ve been missing out on...... My post here is more geared towards Breeding the Spawn. I can hear that producer Paul Bagin had no idea what he was dealing with here when Suffo entered the studio. Yes, it was a step backwards, and possibly thwarted the momentum gained by Effigy, but, coming into this AMAZING Spawn album - this is the very oppressive and murky sound that intimidated me back in the day. I LOVE this 2nd release of theirs. Those muddy, rough edges really seem to suit the music and feel of the album. And Chris Richards’ bass playing is outstanding, something I thought that Josh Barohn’s playing was very under mixed on Effigy. Yin and Yang. I don’t think BtS deserves the flak it cops - (Yes, I say this decades after the fact, I wasn’t there (so to speak, Van Der Graaf, Magma, and Henry Cow, Hawkwind and Floyd, The Airplane, Quicksilver etc... that’s where I was....) but I love this unbelievable music. I wish I’d have embraced it much earlier on my musical journey, but pot and Floyd suck me in way too deep for extreme metal - Maiden and Metallica was as far as I got... ^^ Suffocation are awesome, so many great albums. Piecred From Within is my favourite and although it's only an EP, Despise The Sun contains some of their best stuff too.

^ Both are great, agreed.
I also think that Gorguts’ debut, Considered Dead, is a knock-out. Obliteration - Nekropsalms is an incredible release. |

Spacey death metal from the UK. If Voivod played death metal they might sound like this. good stuff!
The CD and Vinyl version have different covers.

I liked this one, though to my ears they're a bit more on the thrash side.
