Jazz-Rock Fusion Anyone?

   Damn this is an old thread brought to life Again. Not a huge fan of the genre, as I seldom enjoy improvisations, but when some of the above play structured parts I´m often sold. I´m familiar with quite a few of the artists above but out of the bunch I´d probably go with some early Soft Machine (before they went too fusion/jazzy) and early Santana, which I love. 

Mahavishnu has some incredible parts too, but I think their albums are too unfocused and there are way too much improvisation for my personal tastes.

Weather Report is pretty much the same to me. I love some of the music, but I´m not too fond of other parts.
