The early 70's saw the birth of heavy metal, with more bands than most people seem to realize. Not counting hard rock bands that dabbled in early metal, what's your favorite of these early metal bands.
PS: Listen to at least most of them before default voting for Black Sabbath, give the other bands a chance at least.

I've heard all these bands and many of them are great but Sabbath was on a whole other level of greatness so gotta go with the masses on this one

I have to vote for Black Sabbath, but got to give some respect to Budgie as well. Especially for the Never Turn Your Back on a Friend and In For the Kill albums. I do love Flower Travellin' Band's Satori as well.
