The new Dordeduh album, called "Har" is excellent.

Panopticon sneaked an album out earlier this month and I've only just found out about it.

I think I like the new Gojira. I find that I´m generally more a fan of their last couple of accessible releases, rather than their more progressive early recordings.

^It has significantly grown on me since the first listen. For me, it has surpassed Magma but not quite in the same league as the 3 preceeding that.

Recently listened to these two bands, easily my favorite metal releases so far this year:

Nu metal with metalcore and melodic alt metal elements, and some electronic touches. Love their cover of Prodigy's Breathe, I think I like it more than the original.

Sludgy metalcore with a raw Crowbar-esque approach to melody. Massive sound with some great atmosphere.

^That Silenus EP is great. The soundscape is incredibly wide as you say. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Based on the that, I think you'll enjoy this bit of UK mathcore which amongst others is a contender for AOTY so far for me.

^I thought it might be something up your alley! Thanks for the rec, I'll try and get around to checking that out soon, Haven't really looked for any mathcore this year yet.

Nice one Paul. I hope you like it. I'm loving that Cryptosis album you reviewed more and more with each listen. Played it today on a work related drive from Glasgow to Gretna and then again on the way back!

That it is. It's the first one I have actually enjoyed instantly in many years.

^that was intense to say the least! I'll need to play that again soon. After one listen, I'm not sure if I enjoyed it or not, it was more an equally hypnotising and haunting experience.

New release from UK rap metal group Hacktivist - pretty decent. Meshuggah style groovy riffs with some punk aggression and grime style rapping.

Khaliq, I envisage this being up your street based on what I know of your tastes.

Not bad at all actually, going to spend some more time with it.

Glad you're enjoying Cryptosis. Thumbs Up
