My better half asked if this was a porno, so yeah, there's a bit of nudity... To be honest I don't really know what this was.

Completely insane and never lets up. OTT stupid, but highly entertaining.

I watched this one a couple of years ago and I agree it´s pretty crazy. The protagonist looks like the lead vocalist from No Doubt.

Some good re-watching done today, all second time watches:
I love this one. It has a great cast, atmosphere and the intrigue never goes away since even today we don't know for sure who the real Zodiac killer actually was. A British classic. Lots of great, quotable lines here (though sadly also some racist dialogue). It was supposed to have a sequel, but it was never produced. Another pretty great gangster film like The Long Good Friday, this time from the other side of the pond.

Wow! Not sure I get the story, but it's riveting. Moody and dark. Pattinson and Dafoe are both amazing.

Today's re-watches:
Third watch. Bit of an oddball really. It starts off like pure (period) drama, but gradually descends into horror, though there are no supernatural elements in this brand of Japanese horror. While it's only 12 rated in the UK today, this 1955 film sure showcases just how different a French film from that time period could be to an American film. A few things in this that never would have got past US censors back in the day include profanity, injury detail with blood pouring from it (ever notice how in old films no one hardly ever bleeds when they get shot?) and scenes with women that leave little to the imagination. All tame by modern film standards of course, but ironically the film is by an American director who got blacklisted in Hollywood and was forced to find projects abroad, including this classic, where I can't help wonder if he was afforded the creative freedom for the first time to create something with more realism that the rule bound Hollywood pictures of the day. Whatever criticisms get (mostly fairly) levelled at the rest of The Conjuring Universe, I think this first one is really great. Probably about the fourth time on this one for me.

Had never seen these. What brilliant fun! No one does ultra-violence quite as stylishly as Tarantino. I've never thought much of Uma Thurman as an actress, but she's actually really fucking good. And there's an excellent supporting cast too.

A pleasant surprise. Great score and cinematography.
By the way, found a cool independent video store in my neighbourhood that specializes in horror and cult films. Owner has great taste. Bought a copy of The Stendhal Syndrome (probably the only good Argento I haven't see yet) |

Many will say this is Tarantino's weakest movie and they are probably right, but it sure is a lot of fun, especially the final chase sequence.

Big dumb fun. Love Clyde, the dumb fight scenes, and the utterly hopeless bikies.

Definitely on a bit of a horror kick right now. Watched this one quite a few times. Really fun slasher.
