Glad you enjoyed it Travis. I've somehow only seen Ragnarok once, but it easily ranks among my top MCU movies. Thor works so much better as a less serious character.

I have a massive hype for the fourth one coming out this year.

Yeah, I saw a trailer for Love and Thunder and it looks awesome, lol Though, they seem to be potentially doing something with it, and while it's the kind of thing I'd usually like, I'm not sure I'd want it in this case, but I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Okay, I'll bite. Exactly how does Aliens give a middle figure to the first one?

To me, it's pretty much the perfect sequel. It does zero harm to the first movie's plot (unlike Alien 3 which makes everything Ripley does for Newt worthless) and doesn't try to completely emulate its style, making it a rare case where a sequel is not a total rehash.

I like that fact that Newt´s fate is so gruesome. It suits the bleakness of the franschise well, that it´s a harsh world filled with vile humans and scary monsters. No one is safe...not even the pretty little innocent girl Newt.

Better than The Living Daylights on every level. And underrated as hell overall.

And with that, I have finally seen all 25 official Bond movies. I'm going to check out Never Say Never Again and maybe the spoof Casino Royale just to see what they're like though.

Never Say Never Again is like a normal Bond film. Be warned the other Casino Royale is like an unfunny Austin Powers.

I thought this was mostly pretty solid, though nothing overly special or memorable. The main character was amazing, though, and I really don't see how they can pull off a sequel without Chadwick Boseman, tbh.

^ Too much fuss was made over that one being a black superhero movie without judging it simply as a film. It's very middle of the road MCU fare. And I haven't spoken to anyone who doesn't think the second one should have been cancelled out of respect.

While it's possible still that Wakanda Forever will be a heartfelt tribute to Boseman, it seems the most likely case that it'll end up being the MCU's biggest misfire. And there's a lot riding on who exactly will actually be Black Panther next. A lot of people seem to assume it'll be Shuri, but given that her actress is a known anti-vaxxer, it's questionable whether she'll even get hired by Disney/Marvel again after this.

A very psych horror influenced giallo. The conclusion isn't very satisfactory, but it is pretty grim.

I never found Austin Powers funny. I can't stand Mike Myers outside of a couple of exceptions though. Wayne's World and Shrek mainly.

Yeah, I really don't see it going over well, unless some miracle happens, lol And yeah, for a movie that's only about half a year away (supposedly), it seems we know next to nothing about it, and I don't even think any trailers or anything have been released yet, when it obviously would have had to have been filmed by now, unless they're quietly delaying it. But I mean, considering these movies often have close to full cast lists announced a year or more in advance, it seems weird we don't even know who the MC will be in this one. Obviously, what happened with their star is very unfortunate and sad, but yeah, this definitely feels like it could end up being a huge mess.

Anyway, my next movie is the highly touted Infinity War, which is one of the main movies I was doing this run for, so hopefully it lives up to all the hype. (Ironically, I'm less hyped for Endgame, because from what I've heard, Infinity War actually does some surprising and challenging things, while Endgame sounds like a typical, gift wrapped ending sort of thing, that's surely fun to watch for the sheer spectacle of it, but it seems to not be as impressive overall, from what I've heard.)

I can't really say much about Endgame without spoilers, but there's two elements of that movie where I think they fucked up in a big way. Not saying these things make it a bad movie, but for me they were bad creative decisions.

I do remember one specific thing I know you weren't too thrilled about at the time (it's something I had read about somewhere beforehand, so even back then I knew about it.) I'm kinda dreading it, but also interested in seeing if it's at least handled well.

(But yeah, I know a character I really like gets killed off, and as far as I know, it may actually be permanent, as their only appearance afterward takes place before Endgame, I believe.)

Okay, so you know about one of the two things. Once you've seen the film I'll say exactly why I have such a problem with it (it isn't that it happened at all, even though it was a surprise at first on every level).

I'll just say the other big thing I think Endgame gets wrong isn't a character's death.

WOW! It certainly lived up to its hype, even if I had a pretty good idea of what to expect going in. It was every bit the epic thrill ride I expected, but with some actual teeth to it (even if pretty much everything will likely get reversed, somehow, LOL) At least in the moment, it has some really dark and heavy scenes. I've seen fans of a certain JRPG series I love compare two of its games to this and Endgame, and after seeing this, I can see the parallels between the first halves near perfectly.

I was considering just watching Endgame tomorrow as my next movie, but I realize Captain Marvel apparently appears in that, and I really do wanna watch her movie first, so I think I'll just suck it up and attempt to get through Ant-Man 2 as well, which will push Endgame back to Sunday. Which would work fine, anyway, because that should be a quiet day and I'll wanna have 3 hours straight of free time to watch it in one go, because I have a feeling it'll be hard to put down at any point.

First one if of course the best but the second one is underrated.

Columbia Noir 4 Disc 5: Chicago Syndicate

This one is a pretty solid mob noir.

Three Stooges:

And this short was a lot of fun!

Ant-Man and the Wasp is important for Endgame. I can't say much without spoilers but the way Infinity War ends is what Endgame needs to resolve and if you were to skip Ant-Man and the Wasp you'd miss a lot of context for Endgame.

Basically Ant-Man is a big deal in Endgame.

So true. I've never bothered with AvP or anything because that seemed like a good place to leave it.

The first AVP was a watchable if completely throwaway movie. Requiem was just shit.

I don't remember much about the next two stand alone Predator movies. I sold both my DVDs after one watch of each. Although I do have Predators in my new blu-ray set (not The Predator though) but that's less out of desire to see it again and more because it was cheaper to buy the Predator Trilogy boxset than it was to get the first two on blu-ray either separately or as a double pack (I upgraded my Alien DVDs so wanted these as well so I didn't have to keep my Alien/Predator DVD set hanging around).

Dead

Well, that kinda kills some of my excitement, lol Hopefully I can make it through the Ant-Man movie, but if he's major in Endgame, that does not bode well. It'll basically be the opposite of Infinity War, where most of my favorites got big roles (especially the Guardians and Thor), and I liked Thanos a lot, which also helped. Obviously, I know a lot of characters I like aren't exactly in a position to be getting much screentime for at least the first half, so I expected that, but if they're replaced by Ant-Man.......
