https://blabbermouth.net/news/jeff-loomis-and-van-williams-tease-return-of-nevermore-a-new-chapter-rises I´m interested to hear how they will pull that one off. Personally I´m a huge fan and have been since the late Sanctuary days, but I´m having trouble picturing how Nevermore will sound without Warrel Dane behind the mike. That´s almost an impossibility to me, but I hope they are able to find a singer who can carry the Nevermore name forward. I doubt it, but I sincerely hope that I´m proven wrong. The most positive thing is that we now get to hear Loomis in control again, and not wasting his talents in the generic Arch Enemy, where it didn´t matter if it was him or another guitarist playing.

It'd be nice to have another Nevermore album as I too am a huge fan of
the band...but like you, I also find it hard to imagine Nevermore
playing w/o Dane on vox. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I genuinely cannot fathom Nevermore without Warrel Dane. I know the others were a big part of what made the band but to me he IS the voice of Nevermore, without which it is at best a tribute and I highly doubt anyone could make me think otherwise although I do think I would enjoy being proven wrong on that account.

To me, the essence of Nevermore was the guitar sound combined with the vocals. They'll still have the guitar, but it will be interesting to see if they go for another Warrel Dane sound-alike or go for someone who wants to make the position their own. Not that I'm a big fan, but the second option seems to be working quite well for Linkin Park.

I´m definitely hoping for the second option too. It´s always a bit awkward bringing in a clone singer. On the other hand a very different sounding vocalist can also alienate a lot of the fanbase, so it´s a difficult situation.

I was never really into Warrel Dane's vocals, and mostly enjoyed the guitarwork, so I'm interested to see how they sound with a different singer. I understand why some fans are very skeptical, though, but personally, I don't see myself enjoying them any less with a different vocalist, tbh.
