No, i love Fates Warning's APSOG very much, too. Smile

Tricky question, but if you asked about favourite concept discography I would say Cannibal Corpse. Conceptual as hell, no doubt about it.

But seriously, it must be MAYH or Still Life by Opeth. Riverside's trilogy as close second.

You're not alone. APSOG is easily one of my favorite Fates Warning albums.  Smile

I have the Awaken The Guardian re-issue with liner notes from Mike Portnoy where he states that Fates Warning were doing what Dream Theater were doing before Dream Theater. Wink

Weird way of saying it, but it gets the pint a cross. Tongue

(I like the tongue emoticon)

Don't get me wrong.  I love many of DT's albums (Awake, I&W, 6 Degrees, among others).  Just wanted to give Fates Warning some props.

I love APSOG as well, even though it's not my favorite Fates Warning album. That would have to be Perfect Symmetry.

King Diamond - "Them"

Second best concept album would be King Diamond - Abigail.

Yeah "In Search of Truth" is a really great album. Too bad Evergrey havent been able to reach that level of excellence since.

You know, I used to really dislike "new" Evergrey as well. Upon revisiting some of their albums recently, I like their newer stuff much more than I thought I did. Not as much as ISoT, but I think most of them are at-least above average. Smile

Deadwing was written as a story and I guess Wilson wanted to make a film to follow it but I guess that kind of went nowhere.
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.
