Hello my fellow Black Metal fans.
I just recently got into Black Metal and I have found a few bands that I like.
I would like to expand my knowledge of this awesome genre.
And have discussions about BM bands. Thankyou.

Well, this genre is not exactly my cup of tea, but there are bands that appeal for every headbanger
VENOM (classic!) IMMORTAL (the best) MAYHEM CELTIC FROST (except the album Cold Lake, sure...) TRYPTYKON Two first albums of KEKAL |

-Sabbat (the Japanese band; they're responsible for my all time favorite album, The Dwelling)
-Nokturnal Mortum (lots of love for this band, they can't do any wrong. Varggoth is a mastermind. If only Oriana Records wasn't so obscure of a record label so I can get their albums easier.)
-Negura Bunget (magical)
-Blut Aus Nord (desolation never sounded so enthralling)
-Paysage d'Hiver / Darkspace (What can I say? Tobias Mockl is another musical mastermind.)
For more of my black metal fanboyism , I've got a huge list.

I mostly listen to the "post-black metal" stuff, like Agalloch and Alcest. Negura Bunget is a particular favourite of mine.

I don't listen to a ton of black metal, but here are some BM bands in my collection:
Emperor Enslaved Dissection Drudkh Agalloch I saw Anaal Nathrakh on Jonas' list, and my brother has been getting into them lately. They sound pretty cool.

I'd say Anaal Nathrakh leans more toward grindcore though.

Yeah I won't argue that. I think we might even have them under grindcore on the site.

Yes. And for me this is wrong. Anaal Nathrakh's basic genre is black metal. So, it would be good if they put them under black metal.

Yeah Ive had this conversation with Tommi ( Vehemency) a while back, and we agreed that at least some of the early albums should be tagged black metal, but at the time it had been a while since any of us had listened to the albums, so we decided to wait with retagging the albums until someone who could remember which albums leaned more towards black metal than grindcore turned up. Maybe that is you Geo? Personally I think they are a hybrid grindcore/ black metal act and that at least their three last albums could be tagged with either of those tags, but if theres a general consensus that their whole discography should be placed in black metal instead of grindcore you are welcome to re-tag the albums black metal.
