I pays to be even half alert during that one. Structure wise 'tis becoming more twisted, and in many ways non-deterministic or dare I say stochastic.

Below is a track off the new Aderlating (a slow start, but I promise it does gain momentum. The 2010 release is a little more ferocious right from the get go). Miasmic noise with a dark ritualistic feel, you can still feel the BM influences way down there falling with the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (H'm maybe Dante's inferno might have been a better analogy), but, yeah, the music will speak louder than the rubbish I spout...

edit: There's an earlier one.

^^^^^ No worries, hopefully you'll derive some enjoyment from them.

This arrived by post yesterday, and my shitty tape player did its best to try 'n' eat the bastard in first thirty seconds :(
Put Side B first as I found it more enjoyable.

^^^As with Gnaw Their Tongues its definitely not easy music to get into thats for sure. I like the suffocating unpleasant atmosphere, but I have to admit that my patience is tested a bit. I usually crave more rythmically busy musicSmile. Its still an interesting listen though. Theres nothing that beats broadening your musical horizon IMO.

UMUR, thats great. I tend to forget people here come from a different musical background to me. How the music plateaus (first appearance) at one noisy level, but once you listen to this stuff (well noise) for a while you become attuned to the, I guess you could call them macro changes which start filtering through like melody. Generally I'm not a huge fan of these type of projects by 'metal' musicians (if we are going to wrongfully pigeon 'em), but every now and again the results turn out wonderfully.

Angelmk, any sound samples floating around? I've not heard a peep since '06. How does it compare?

I'd just like to drop in the fantastic Noontide album by Fanisk.

Don't be turned away by the swastika on the album art.  They're not really an NS band.  For full effect, listen to the full album without interruptions.

their best effort to date, IMO. more folkish sound, more acoustic moments, even avant-metal i would say, very inovative, great melodies, love that voice of his, that shrieks just beautiful,  more progressive than anything else they ever did. album is out, and also you can check youtube, all songs are uploaded there

It's been heavy on my rotation lately - really excellent atmospheric black metal! Clap

^^^^ I've seen it floatin' 'round the nets. I'll check it out.

In other news, Urfaust and I spent some quality time together on a long bus trip. Thinking about getting some words out on this one. Edit: Quality might have been a poor word choice, it is one of those albums where experimentation doesn't work out, but is interesting enough to spin a couple of times.

I listened to some Nargaroth while on a short trip yesterday.  I'm starting to feel like their only good albums are Herbstleyd and Jahreszeiten.

That one is MUCH more enjoyable... their new album isn't nearly as frightening as that.
