This is a black metal album I enjoy a lot. Check it out if you like symphonic black metal. |

Yeah its flat and monotone. After only a few minutes my attention begin to wander. The second part of the album is a bit more interesting than the first, but the horrible production kills anything that could have worked. The Axis of Perdition are now in deep shit IMO. First "Urfe" which wasnt exactly well received by the fans (its a spoken word album) and now this.

I don't mind it (the cover), but I've definitely seen better art (usually out of black metal though ).

I actually thought Urfe sounded interesting based on the description you gave me in the shouts on my review for Tenements, but I have yet to hear anything from it.

I haven't heard Urfe, but it seems like we feel pretty much the same about Tenements. It's a shame... my previous experience with them (Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital) is excellent!

I used to thrash Lunar Poetry 'n' Goat Horns. I'm actually a little frightened to return to their albums (after a long sabbatical from Metal entirely) as my tastes have change considerably, so the nostalgic factor might dissipate into the ether... maybe not. I did notice their album from '09 popping up on numerous list around the place, which, ever so slightly, peak my interest. |

Well, Nokturnal's latest two albums don't sound much like Goat Horns or Lunar Poetry at all.

I'd be dishonest with myself if I said I'd be able to listen to a whole album in that style. Not bad by any measure. My tastes are narrow, and generally inclined towards structures a little less accomplished.
On another note here's one for Paysage D'Hiver. Monvment - I Slightly more beautiful, glacial. |

I heard it, and I thought it sounded a bit awkward as an audio CD. I'm sure though the DVD is worth the good price they're asking.

Whoa, this is awesome acoustic/folk-influenced black metal! I can't wait to hear it a few more times!
Even after one listen, I'm currently feeling an easy 4 star rating.

I agree. Definitely going to give this one more than a few listens before review though. New stuff just seems to keep jumping out with this one.
