acording to poll I saw in another site, it was highly aprooved that Trivium and Mastodon were both on the same dime of exelence. How true is that analyses, i havent listend to any Trivium albums, but since I like Mastodon, and this dude is stating that both bands are equaly good and exiting, should I then by that statment really check out Triviums albums,
would I like them, is it smart to listen to them in the same way as I listen to Mastodon, are they even compareable... http://music.ign.com/articles/738/738687p1.html Edited by Balthamel - 29 Jul 2011 at 1:00pm |

I think he's greatly exaggerating. I don't really see any similarities, and Mastodon is way better.

Crime! Mastodon are better and mainly more original.

Trivium don't excite me at all to be honest.

Trivium's Shogun is tied with BTBAM's Alaska for best metalcore album on this site.

My best friends listen to Trivium a lot and frankly I don't get the incredible hype they get. To me it's generic metalcore riff after generic metalcore riff with a vocalist trying to imitate James Hetfield while still sounding like your average whining metalcore vocalist. I will give them credit for avoiding breakdown-itis for the most part that plagues the metalcore scene all too much.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I think that settles it then. Mastodon beats Trivium, and the author of that post on ign doesn't know what he's talking about.

The two bands don't sound very similar, and I'd say Mastodon is much better. Trivium's okay, though.

No, they are not comparable. I can maybe see this if they're using Remission as the basis for their comparison, but even then, I'm not hearing it. Mastodon beats the stuffing out of Trivium in pretty much every category, anyway.
