Documentaries

A thread for the discussion of Metal Documentaries.

The most notably ones I can think of are:

Such Hawks Such Hounds - General Doom, Stoner, Underground Documentary
Get Thrashed - General Thrash Documentary
Until The Light Takes Us - General Black Metal Documentary
The Decline Of Western Civilization 1,2,3 - General Punk, Hair Metal and Gutterpunk Documentary
American Hardcore - General 80s American Hardcore Punk Documentary
Anvil: The Story Of Anvil - Specific Documentary about the band Anvil
Flight 666 - Specific Iron Maiden Tour Documentary.

And obviously the metal therapy documentary Some Kind Of Monster. 

Here's one that BBC did in the lates 80s:

I saw Get Thrashed a couple of years ago and liked it, but it didn't have a lot of things that I didn't already know.  I think the story of Anvil was on VH1 once, but I didn't see all of it.

As mentioned already Headbanger's Journey, Global Metal and This Is Spinal Tap are all essential.  I'm also a huge fan of The Megadeth Documentary.  It's a great look into what makes Dave tick, and there are loads of hilarious anecdotes.

The Megadeth documentary is definitely interesting, but also kind of depressive - but in conjunction with Mustaine's autobiography, the Megadeth documentary becomes less negative.

I've been watching Dunn's "Metal Evolution" series on TV. I like it so far.
I also enjoyed the doc. "Heavy Metal in Baghdad."
