I don't mean shock appeal cover art and stuff like that...I mean like "atrociously grim, darker than an abyss, off putting to the sane" kind of metal. For me, I would say Khanate, Abruptum, Enmity, and Wreck of the Hesperus.

Gnaw Their Tongues immediately comes to mind. Some of the most creepy stuff you'll ever hear.

Boris' "Absolutego" album also springs to mind. Also, "Through Silver in Blood" by Neurosis. |

Yes thats the first one that came to mind. The main man behind Gnaw Their Tongues, Mories has a couple of other projects too. Not quite as scary, but rather unpleasant too: De Magia Veterum and Aderlating. Now if this isnt scary, I dont know what is:

This is by far the most disturbing thing I have ever listened to, even by this band. Wow.

Oh, and how could I forget Boris' "Absolutego" - one of the greatest and most opressive things that has ever happened in the world of music. I can't even describe it...

Have you checked that already, dude? Is there anything creepier than that stuff? "That's what hell sounds like".

I wouldn't call it scary necessarily, but what about Naked City's Leng Tch'e?
