King Diamond- The Eye
Mercyful Fate- In the Shadows

Though a huge fan of both bands, I never owned these two, looking forward.

Orphaned Land- Mabool

Should be really interesting, middle-eastern hard rock/metal.

^Definitely two of the best releases King Diamond has been involved in. "In the Shadows" is only inferior to the two first album releases by Mercyful Fate and I rank "The Eye" among King Diamonds best.

Okay, now I'm REALLY psyched! I've been really getting into "Into the Unknown" and "9" lately, both have several great songs apiece. They took a few more listens, just to hear the care they took with the songs. The former in particular has become one of my favorite 'Fate releases!

Both are of course great releases but I cant say none of them rank among my favorites from Mercyful Fate. I kinda feel they had run out of steam at that point. Hank Sherman has recently spoken of a possible reunion though. It all depends on Kings fragile health though, but I would personally die to see Mercyful Fate one more time before they completely call it quits.

...oh and before we go any further into our fanboy praiseLOL we have a King Diamond/Mercyful Fate appreciation thread here: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=795

Lets get Back to topic in this threadBig smile.

I like the first but the last has always been a quite boring listen IMO.

Went back to the Altoona's FYE only a week after my previous visit.  Found and bought these:

These were packaged together in a 2 CD case.  Found it used for only $9.99 so I thought why not?

Also got this new for $7.99.

My brother likes going to Princeton, says you can score some real gems (for cheap) there but that's too far a drive for me when I have a store like 10 mins awayLOL

Panopticon was one out of 67 CDs i purchased last year at my local library when they sold some of their collection. Each CD cost me 10 dkr. Thats something like a little less than $2 each.

Only during the summer.  Sometimes my dad will take us on vacation to my grandma's house in Mantaloking, NJ.  We hit Princeton along the way.  It's a great store.
